Week-one mix leans toward weaker sections; urgency shifts weight toward your earliest exam date as it approaches.
Why spreadsheets break at week 3
- They assume every day happens. When one slips, you manually shuffle a dozen cells and lose trust in the sheet.
- They allocate equal time everywhere. Real prep needs more time on weak sections and on the exam that is closest.
- They cannot tell you whether the remaining weeks are actually feasible.
Acadence treats a missed day as signal, not failure: overdue work is redistributed, fatigue and performance adjust pacing, and the next session shown on Today is always the right next thing — not the cell you forgot to move.
How the MCAT plan adapts
- You set urgency honestly: exam date, weekly hours, and which study days are real — not aspirational.
- You study one session: Focus runs a timer for the session Today chose.
- You check in: completed / missed / partial plus fatigue and performance.
- Acadence replans the future only: later days shift; today stays calm. No full rewrite, no guilt rebuild.
Already using UWorld, Anki, Kaplan, or Khan Academy? Acadence complements them — those tools tell you what to practice; this plan tells you when and heals when life happens.
Frequently asked questions
How many hours per week for a 12-week MCAT plan?
Most pre-meds land at 18–25 hours. Part-time studiers doing 12–15h should stretch to 16+ weeks. The generator shows whether your hours and window are feasible before you commit.
I work alongside prep. Will the plan respect irregular days?
Yes — choose exactly which weekdays are real and the allocator distributes your hours evenly across them. You can also mark rest days explicitly.
What if I miss a week — does the whole plan blow up?
No. Overdue sessions go to a Recovery queue; replanning only reshapes future days. You never wake up to a silently rewritten month.
Do I need to enter every topic?
No. Topics are optional. Add them later for finer allocation; the plan works with just subjects and exam dates.
Is this free?
Yes — one active plan, full scheduling, Today/Focus/Review. No credit card. The free generator preview is identical to what you save after signup.
